How did I get here?
On graduation, after a lengthy tour of the United States
I started a career in Personnel Selection for the high-tech industries
in 1984. Eventually, I became a headhunter in the field of defence electronics.
In 1993 I moved into education and training and worked for Matthew Boulton
College in Birmingham for six years, interviewing and selecting students
for vocational science and degree courses.
In 1993 I started working part-time for Birmingham University,
lecturing in my lifelong passion, War Studies. I have developed and delivered
on two certificates and a diploma of higher education for the adult education
section of the University, PACE. I now teach history and aspects of cultural
studies on all parts of the School's activities: the public programme,
certificates and diplomas, and the degree courses.
