Shaftesbury Grammar Dorset. Usual crop of 'O' and 'A' levels. Scholarships to visit France as part of cultural exchange programme.

First Degree

At University of Warwick in French Studies. Course included history, politics, fine art, language, literature, philosophy, carousing and schmoozing. Graduated in 1983

Appeared in three student drama productions including Ionesco's 'The Bald Prima Donna'. Regular spot on W963 cheesy student radio station.

Teacher Training

Again University of Warwick, Certificate in Education in Adult and Further Education, studied under Lesley Stewart and Terry Hyland. Completed in 1996.

Currently Studying

Working toward PhD at School of History, Birmingham University.
