
Toby McLeod teaches War Studies and History at Birmingham University. He has conducted battlefield tours to France, Scotland and Belgium and writes on early modern warfare.
His other interests include warfare in the Seventeenth Century, military equitation, Scottish history, collecting antique edged weapons and sampling rare malts.
He has contributed some major sections to The Oxford Companion to Military History, edited by Professor Richard Holmes and available in all good bookshops. More recently he has written sections on Seventeenth Century France for the publisher Fitzroy Dearborne's Readers' Guide to Military History.
Toby is now working on his Phd and his waistline.
